This is a follow-up to the
meeting last week when Carolyn and Andrea Nichwitz explained the Operation
Christmas Child program.
All of the information below
is from the Samaritan’s Purse website (www.samaritanspurse.org/OCC_PackAShoeBox.asp?OCCPath=1).
We hope that all the circles
will participate.
Thank you!

A reminder
of what Operation Christmas Child is:
Operation Christmas Child is a
shoe box ministry that spreads holiday cheer to children worldwide. This
program helps millions of children in desperate situations all around the world!
How You Can
Help
-
Collect empty shoe boxes.
-
Decide on an age category
for your recipients: 2-4, 5-9, and/or 10-14. I’m assuming the princesses
would pick girls.
-
Have the girls buy small
gifts to fill the shoe boxes. Some gift ideas for girls include small dolls,
stuffed animals, picture books, crayons, coloring books, jump rope, hard
candy, t-shirts, socks, hairbrush, etc. More ideas are listed on the website.
-
Collect small monetary
donations because $7 is requested per shoe box to help defer shipping costs.
Checks should be made payable to “Samaritan’s Purse” and should be placed in
each box.
-
Wrap the shoe box (lid
separate from the base). Then put a rubber band around the box.
-
Label the shoe box
(downloadable from the website).
-
Contact Debbie Stewart
(435-0777) to arrange a pick-up date and time.
Completed
boxes are due by October 31st.
Last year, Samaritan’s Purse
shipped over 7.6 million shoe boxes!
